Maremagnum is first and foremost one of the largest centers for shopping in Barcelona.
It even is a unique place to visit when you don’t feel like spending money 😉 Not only has Maremagnum a special architecture, it also is located on a very special spot. You can find Maremagnum right at the beach. So after a long day of shopping you can relax and unwind at the seacoast.
Shop Until you Drop
Maremagnum also known as the sea of shops is a desired place by everyone who likes to be in trend whether it concerns your outfit or the new look of your living room. The shopping mall has two floors which are devided in the following categories clothing, shoes, jewellery, food, cosmetics, home decoration, toys and electronics. If La Rambla couldn’t seem to offer you the things you were looking for, dont be sad because Maremagnum is there for your rescue. During the summer you can enjoy walking through the mall untill 10pm, so no need to rush.
Recharge your Batteries
After either a long day of shopping or a long walk through the streets of Barcelona you can take a break and enjoy some lovely food at Maremagnum. Especially Baritimo is a nice place to sit and relax. It has a terrace where you can sit and relax and enjoy the view over the Balearic sea. If you already have been overloaded by the spanish tapas, do not worry. Maremagnum has different restaurant to offer that serve Mediterranian, Italian and Oriental food. French fries, hamburgers, etc. can be consumed in one of the fastfood restaurants.
Beautiful Location and Architecture
Who says Maremagum is just a shopping mall should reconsider his or her opinion. First of all is it completely surrounded by water, you will have the feeling you are walking on water. Port Vell is a nice picturesque harbor filled with boats. Also you can have a nice stroll there before or after having done some shopping at Maremagnum. This harbor is located right next to the shopping mall.
What to Combine Visiting Maremagnum
This shopping mall is located right at the sea, you can find it on the Moll de Espanya which is the prolongation of La Rambla. La Rambla del Mar gives access to all pedestrians who want to go to Maremagnum. This wooden bridge opens almost every hour to let boats pass.
If you are on you way visiting the Mirador de Columbus there is just a 10 minute walk left on reaching the sea of shops. Speaking of the sea, why not take a walk in the immense oceanarium in the Aquarium of Barcelona? As you can see there are plenty of other things to see or do after having visited the Maremagnum.
How to Get There?
Maremagnum is really easy to reach with public transport, lucky you!
Bus V17 (direction Vall d’Hebron)will drop you off right at Maremagnum. If you are more comfortable taking a metro, you can always take L4 and get off at Barceloneta. After, you are just a 10 min walk away from one of the biggest shopping centers of Barcelona.
