Do you think BCN is too crowded for you? No worries: here are the best places to chill in the city of Barcelona
Barcelona is full of everything you need for a perfect getaway. The city has many stores, from small individual ones to the big chains. In every street you’ll find at least one restaurant or bar and many streets are full with tiny tapas places. Also, culture wise Barcelona is the best go-to place due to many museums and of course all Gaudi’s famous work. However, the city centre of Barcelona can be very crowded, especially in summer when all tourists are coming. No worries! The city offers its citizens’ and the tourists coming to town enough places to chill and relax! So here we go:
Mont juic not only brings you a great parc to chill but it also provides you with the best views! Not only the mont juic itself is fun, but also the way to get there: you can get here by cable cars from the beach to the mountain.
Parc de la Ciutadella
Parc Cuitadella is one of the most beautiful parks and the oldest park in Barcelona. Find yourself a palmtree for some shade and enjoy a relaxing day at the park. Also, Parc de la Ciutadella has more to offer than just a place to relax. The park has some really great cultural features to visit and also a pond where you can rent a tiny boat and row off some of these tapas calories! Or visit the Zoo that also is in the park! Don’t forget to bring some snacks and drinks and enjoy your fun day at the park!
The summer in Spain can be hot and what better way to cope with this heat than going to the beach. Barcelona’s beach is quite big and the water can be very refreshing. In the summer it can be very crowded but luckily there are always spots! The beach can also be a great place to have dinner and watch the sunset or have a nightly swim! Looking for a quieter beach? Go a little bit further from the city centre or to a village next to Barcelona!
Bunkers del carmel
For the best view of the city you should go to bunkers del carmel. These bunkers were built during the Spanish civil war and now they are used for the best city views and a great way to have a romantic sunset picknick.
Want to explore some of the city’s most cultural places but still be able to chill at the same time? Go to Parc Guell, this parc founded by Gaudi is high in the city so it will give you not only the chance to be able to sit on one of the most famous benches in the world but also get great views from the entire city. Bring some snacks, drinks and enjoy!
Plaça Reial, Plaça Cataluyna, Las Ramblas
Besides the parcs and beaches that Barcelona has to offer strolling around can be fun as well. Take a seat at Placa Cataluyna and take a moment to check out all the other people passing by. The same for Las Ramblas and Plaça Reial. There are always a few benches on every square. Take a break from walking and listen to a street artist playing his violin or check out an awesome street dance performance.
